Firenze

Here in Florence, the home of Michaelangelo, Davinci, Medici and now Anita and Debbie (for a few days anyway). Sitting on our balcony at the Hotel Splendid and it is a mild 18 as we look out on the square and the fountain. Had a nice flight and then wandered around, enjoying a pinot grigio in the square by the 13th century Church of Santa Maria Novella. It had frescoes done by Michaelangelo's teacher. Walked the Arno river and the Ponte Vecchio (only intact 1400's bridge left after WWII). The bridge is filled with gold and silver smith's shops. Architecture in the city is more than amazing and awe inspiring. Food is too. It is wonderful on Sept 25 to be sitting at an outdoor cafe enjoying pizza and cappuccino!
